we should aim for eudaimonia – happiness, but the sort of happiness resulting from a life in perfect balance. Eudaimonia means we have developed habits of patience, temperance, courage etc. People suffering greatly from illness would not be living a eudaimon life. If someone is incurably and terminally ill,I might hope that they would have the courage to accept their fortune.
A person achieving eudaimonia would have the wisdom and judgement to make the right decision.
I am concerned with the good for society above the individual.

I believe that suicide brings up pain and my philosophy wants to state utilitarianism among society and happiness around the world. To escape from problems is considered coward therefore, stand for your actions and be happy to make others happy and feel pleasure avoiding pain.
ReplyDeleteI agree with my student thought´s because I think committing suicide is a stupid action and it reveals the cowardy of a person. However, I do believe that commiting suicide can be ethical if it´s based in terminal illness...
