Don't be afraid to Pull the Plug

I believe that humans, as species, have the right to choose whether to live or to die. As a category, we belong to one type of society, or to one group. Euthanasia is often compared to suicide, although there are vaguely similar. When someone has a terminal disease and is going to die, it is acceptable to pull the plug, because that’s the way you are. You decide to die, not because you are suicidal, but maybe because you are suffering too much in the state you are.

I also think that people WILL act the way they truly are when confronted by death. This is what I call morality. Persons with terminal diseases can decide whether to live or to die because they have freedom of thought. Euthanasia is acceptable if you believe that it is the correct thing to do and if you agree with it. You must act the way you are to be considered moral. According to existentialism, we must act the way we truly are to be moral to society; this means that if I want to die because I have a terminal disease, then it is completely moral. As I said before, Euthanasia is compared to suicide, although they don’t share the main characteristics. Suicide is not moral, at all. Suicide is immoral because the person attempting suicide is not acting the way they truly are, because if the person was suicidal, then he/she would’ve committed suicide before.

Euthanasia is widely acceptable in many countries, not by their religion, but by their beliefs in life. Egyptians believed in the afterlife, meaning that if you were sick and could afford mummification, you would get killed in order to pass onto the second life. Morality can come in many different ways, and one of them is to act the way you truly are.
