Euthanasia (Do humans have the right to end their lives if terminally ill?)
My name is Thomas Aquinas. I’m a well known priest, philosopher and theologian. Euthanasia is Euthanasia should only be permitted if it is indirect euthanasia where someone dies just by discontinuing or disconnecting medical procedures to avoid the person’s suffering because it respects the power God haves in life and death. The patient should make the decisions if he is capable of, but if it is direct euthanasia it shouldn’t be permitted. Direct euthanasia is when someone makes the decision for you and puts your life in the hands of someone else; this isn’t moral because it goes against Gods authority and power. I think euthanasia shouldn’t be permitted because life is a gift God gave us and we should cherish it and be grateful. Life isn’t supposed to be wasted, we should like through God’s will. Also direct euthanasia goes against nature that is the inclination of continue to live without any interference and going against our best interest is just wrong. The only reason a person should be killed is when they have done something really bad, we should condone killing someone just because they suffer a terminally illness. Euthanasia is a form of suicide and that is not permissible in the Catholic religion because you take your own life when it was granted to you to live it to the fullest. We should always meditate on the right thing to do by understanding what’s right and wrong by making correct judgments by eliminating the permission of direct euthanasia.

I agree with you Tommy, to a certain point. I believe life should be terminated if youre suffering and aren't getting any pleasure from it. In what I totally disagree with you Tommy is that in direct euthanasia, i believe both euthanasi's should be permitted. Life for a hedonist person should be focus in pleasure, mentally or physically. So I disagree with in that that you should keep living no matter how painful, foucs on having pleasures, and if you can't, don't keep living
